Building Science for Carpenters
August 27 @ 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Join other carpenters, builders, and construction professionals for an evening of networking, presentations, and discussion on building science and construction techniques for high-performance building. Each month, we will have short presentations from guest speakers around a chosen topic and then open discussion among the group. Drinks and snacks are provided and attendance is open to all.
This month, we meet on-site at a high-performance home in Weston. Steven Snider, (Green Phoenix Development) has offered a tour of his Highland Street High Performance, DOE Zero Energy Ready certified project in Weston on Tuesday, August 27. He is offering the tour and will include the following discussion topics:
– design process and goals
– construction details
– tour and summary of the home’s efficiency features
– discussion about the various certifications (LEED Platinum, ENERGY STAR, EPA Indoor airPLUS, DOE Zero Energy Ready) and challenges achieving them
Both the architect (Treff LaFleche of LDA) and GC (Walter Beebe-Center of Essex Restoration) plan on speaking and answering questions.
