Building Science for Carpenters
March 28, 2019 @ 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Join other carpenters, builders, and construction professionals for an evening of networking, presentations, and discussion on building science and construction techniques for high-performance building. Each month, we will have short presentations from guest speakers around a chosen topic and then open discussion among the group. Drinks and snacks are provided and attendance is open to all.
March Topic: Energy Basics and Rules of Thumb
Ken Neuhauser of Building Evolution Corporation and Paul Eldrenkamp of Byggmeister will team up to talk about a range of basic energy topics — energy units, how to read your utility bill, heat loss calculations, energy usage intensity (EUI) as a comparative tool, estimating solar PV output in your head, and whatever questions audience members bring to the event.
Building Science for Carpenters is an ongoing series co-sponsored by the Studio for High-Performance Design & Construction (StudioHPDC), the Builders and Remodelers Association of Greater Boston (BRAGB), and Passive House Massachusetts (PHMA).
