Join us for our December meeting over Zoom as we discuss the ongoing update process to the state’s PH incentive programs as well as the effort to update the Stretch Building Code to include Net-Zero and Passive House.

EZ Code

PHMA has been working in partnership with MCAN, NEEP, MAPC, Sierra Club MA, and Built Environment Plus to develop and support the Energy Zero (EZ) Code as the basis for MA’s Net Zero stretch code. This is a visionary building code which focuses on Passive House for energy efficiency, relies on all-electric heating and cooling sources with some exceptions, and emphasizes local renewable energy.

PH Incentives

The state’s Energy Efficiency Advisory Council has begun the process of updating the energy efficiency incentive programs for the next 3-year period, to begin in 2022. PHMA is working to make sure that Passive House incentives are not only included as they are now for multifamily buildings, but to expand them to support other buildings types.
