Building Science for Carpenters

October 24, 2019 @ 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Our next Building Science for Carpenters will feature Mike Duclos leading a discussion about ventilation strategies. We’ll discuss examples of different ventilation systems, how each is typically implemented, and what improvements can be made to standard installation practices. We’ll measure some airflows in the classroom in real time using both very simple and very sophisticated equipment. Finally, we’ll wrap up with some pictures and discussion of what goes wrong and why, and how to avoid those issues on your projects.

Join other carpenters, builders, and construction professionals for an evening of networking, presentations, and discussion on building science and construction techniques for high-performance building. Each month, we will have short presentations from guest speakers around a chosen topic and then open discussion among the group. Drinks and snacks are provided and attendance is open to all.

Building Science for Carpenters is an ongoing series co-sponsored by the Studio for High-Performance Design & Construction (StudioHPDC), the Builders and Remodelers Association of Greater Boston (BRAGB), and Passive House Massachusetts (PHMA).
